It’s a new era in Ohio.
Thanks to his romance with Taylor Swift, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is now one of the most popular players in the NFL. Kelce has been plastered in the headlines along with Swift, and some Ohio royalty is taking notice.
NBA superstar LeBron James was on the alternate broadcast with his crew from The Shop for Thursday Night Football between the Chiefs and Denver Broncos when he dubbed Kelce the new “King of Ohio.”
Both LeBron and Kelce grew up in The Buckeye State.

“Listen, sometimes you’ve gotta give the crown up to the next one,” LeBron said. “What Trav has got going on right now, and the Swifties, I think I’m gonna give the crown to him right now. He deserves it right now.”
There is no denying that being attached to Swift has led to an explosion in Kelce’s popularity.
And so far, it hasn’t distracted him from performing on the field.
In Thursday’s 19-8 win over the Broncos, Kelce hauled in 9 catches for 124 yards. And yes, Taylor Swift was in attendance. Since the romance went public, Kelce has been embracing and enjoying every moment.
“I was on top of the world after the Super Bowl, and right now even more on top of the world, so it’s fun man,” Kelce told reporters.
“At the same time, [the attention] comes with it. You’ve got a lot of people that care about Taylor, for good reason. So… just gotta keep living and earning and enjoying the moments.”
Up next for Mr. Swift and the Chiefs is a Week 7 showdown with the division rival Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, October 22.
Kickoff at Arrowhead Stadium is set for 4:25 p.m. ET.
